PIONEER TREK is Under WAY!!!

June 5-8

(We had our first Ma & Pa meeting last night-yeah!)

Please NOTE the up and coming dates for the Trek

APRIL 12th: Each ward needs to submit the names and phone numbers of all YOUTH and ADULTS wanting to attend the pioneer trek, to their Stake YW rep.

*IF adults are not called as a Ma or Pa they will be expected to participate in the trek as an Uncle or Aunt (they DO NOT need to be married)

MAY 17th: Permission slips for ALL participating in the Pioneer trek need to be submitted to your Stake YW Rep.

*It is HIGHLY recommended that your youth are, at least, walking 3x's a week for 20 minutes. You are welcome to do this as a ward or encourage your girls to be doing this individually.

* Start looking for clothes to outfit your youth (bonnets, aprons, skirts, shirts) for the trek...we will be passing along a clothing list shortly.

Youth Needed for Temple Work THIS WEEK!

Bro Beus called me this morning and let me know that there was a mix-up at the temple and we were unable to baptize about 250 male names and over 100 female names that we had prepared for our Youth Baptism trip in February. We would like to complete these baptisms prior to our Stake Temple day on the 21st of March.
Most of our youth will be out of school next week for Spring Break so we felt that Thursday the 19th at 10:00 AM would be a good time to meet at the temple to complete this work. It would be nice to have at least ten males and five females to accomplish this. We will need two Mel Priesthood holders as well to Baptize and Confirm.

Youth need to have a "limited use recommend" from their Bishop to participate.

The Young Women General Presidency invites all young women ages 12 to 18, their mothers, and Young Women leaders to attend the General Young Women Meeting on Saturday, March 28, 2009. This meeting is held under the direction of the First Presidency.
The theme is: “Be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity” (1 Timothy 4:12). President Monson has said, “You are an example of righteousness in a world which desperately needs your influence and strength.”
The meeting will originate from the Conference Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. The live meeting will be broadcast by satellite to meetinghouses worldwide and on the Internet at www.lds.org/broadcast.
